I'm curious how fans of the Narnia books feel about the movies. Movie makers always change some things, which generally upsets fans of the books.
For me, it actually depends on which book it is. With The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, I felt the book had a rich enough plot, that little change was necessary. There were even some scenes I was sorry they skipped in the movie (such as the giant looking for a witch to squash when Aslan woke him up, and then knocking a hole in the wall of her castle).
With Prince Caspian, though, i felt the book was a little bit empty in the middle. Not a lot happened, so I was not bothered that the movie added an entire scene with an attack on the castle. If they hadn't, the movie would have ended pretty quickly.
I just watched the Voyage of the Dawn Treader trailer. That is another one that I think has a lot of events to pack in, so I hope they don't change much in the movie. The trailer looks great, though.
Anyway, that's my $0.02. Anyone else have an opinion about this?

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is one of my favorite books in the series, and overall I thought it was amazing how many parts of the movie were true to the book and the way I imagined it to be. I was a little disappointed with some of the scenes they added…like the scene where the waterfall thaws and Peter, Susan, and Lucy break away on a piece of ice. I didn't feel like it added anything to the movie. I also wish they would have lingered a bit more on the scene where Aslan wakes up from the Stone Table…I felt like that could have been a bit more grand and heartfelt. Overall, though, I think they really did do a good job–some of my favorite parts were Lucy in Mr. Tumnus' cave and the battle scenes.
With Prince Caspian, I always felt like that book dragged on a lot, and I'm glad they added the battle scene with the castle, too. Wish they would have included a bit more detail about Mr. Cornelius and his tales of Narnia–he was one of my favorite characters from that book. I hope they won't change Voyage of the Dawn Treader too much, but if they change one thing, maybe they will make it move a little faster than the book. Each place they visit on the voyage is neat, but there are so many of them–hopefully they will make the most of the highlights of each one but keep the pace moving. It will be fun to see how it turns out; the preview looked so cool!

I really liked both the movies and the books. although I am always dissapointed when hoolywood has to add love intrests when there are none in the books.

Yeah, I forgot about that. I agree, the relationship between Susan and Caspian was a bit annoying. No reason for it.

I haven't read the books for a very long time, but I agree that the movies changed it a bit. I don't think I was bothered about how they did "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe." but in Prince Caspian, I also noticed how they went to Miraz's Castle and fought. And how Susan and Caspian liked each other. (I also saw the trailer for "The Dawn Treader" it looked pretty cool.)

I have never read the books, but I have seen all available movies. What I hate about both is the fact that first Susan and Peter left and the Edmund and Lucy in the Voyage of the Dawn Treaders. It disappointed me. But again I have never read the books but have all the movies. The movies are great and I can't compare the books-movies that well, so…
